As a growth company, Tesla needs to have good unit economics on its capex investments in order to generate shareholder value. However, as of 2018, Tesla's ROIC (Return on Invested Capital) was significantly negative. Could Tesla ultimately generate an ROIC that substantially exceeds its cost of capital?
